SHILLONG: One person, Ashidur Rahman lodged a complaint that around 9.30pm on January 26, while the complainant along with Congress supporters were holding a meeting at his residence at Ghunargaon, around 30-40 NPP supporters led by one Habibuz Zaman Sarkar attacked them and used abusive language.
Another person by the name Mosharaf Ali and two others lodged a complaint that on the same day, around 11 pm, Abdus Saffur Mondal and 80 others came tao Ghunargaon village and distributed money in favour of Congress candidate AT Mondal.West Garo Hills SP Raghavendra Kumar MG said both FIRs have been lodged. The district administration has also ordered an inquiry into the mater. Meanwhile, on January 27, flying squad officials found some dustbins with NPP logo at Syntu Ksiar in West Jaintia Hills in violation of the model code of conduct.
The dustbins were seized.
