SHILLONG: There is further delay in the release of names of candidates by the BJP as one more final meeting is scheduled in Delhi sometime this week.
A senior party functionary said over phone from Delhi that the list has been shared with the top leaders of the party and the names will be released soon.
He said since Tripura polls were much in advance and scheduled for February 18, the BJP was concentrating on that state.
“There is still time for Meghalaya as the filing of nominations will start only on Wednesday,” he said.
February 7 is the last day of filing of nominations.
