TURA: There is dissent within the United Democratic Party (UDP) in North Garo Hills with the party’s district committee expressing disappointment over ticket allotment for 38-Mendipathar constituency without its consent.

Secretary of the District Committee, Balnang N Sangma said that higher authorities of the party have already decided to allot the ticket for Mendipathar to Comolsing R Marak which is being questioned by other party members.

An emergent meeting led by District Vice President, Nycil G Momin was held on Thursday to discuss the situation. Another meeting will be held on February 5 where it will decide whether to support Marak in the upcoming elections.
