SHILLONG: The National People Party (NPP) would keep an watchful eye in Mawryngkneng constituency to ensure that no opponent uses money power during the forthcoming Assembly polls.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, NPP candidate from Mawryngkneng, Pyniaid Sing Syiem said that if the party came across any opponent candidate using money power, they would straightaway file a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner.
While admitting that the battle in Mawryngkneng will be tough, he asserted that he would not take the election easily as so many candidates were now contesting the polls.
Responding to a query, he said that the new Government which will be formed in Meghalaya after the polls, would have a good and close relation with the autonomous District Council for the issues of the public.
He further said that the many villages in Mawryngkneng constituency till date did not have proper roads and farmers still fund it very tough to transport their produces to the marker.
In addition, the present PHC in the constituency also needed be upgraded into a CHC.
Meanwhile, he also expressed concern over the fact SSA teachers in the state including around 200 teachers from Mawryngkneng constituency have not received their salaries since last 5 months.
