JOWAI: The BJP’s poll ticket aspirant from Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills, Violet Lyngdoh on being ignored by the saffron party, has decided to quit the party along with her supporters from 42 booth level committees.
She held a meeting with BJP workers along with hundreds of her supporters on Friday and decided to fold down the saffron flag and all party workers from 42 booth level committees have tendered their resignation along with her.
Violet Lyngdoh will join NPP along with the East Jaintia Hills BJP District President, Balios Swer. Violet Lyngdoh is a sitting JHADC MDC and also the President BJP’s women wing.
Sources informed that the party workers and its supporters in Khliehriat have also asked Lyngdoh’s brother who is the state BJP President, Shibun Lyngdoh to resign from the Safron Party.
