Observers give election guidelines

NONGSTOIN: The General Observer Sanjay Gupta, IAS and Police Observer SR Mishra on Friday met government officials of West Khasi Hills District who were detailed Election duties at Conference Hall Deputy Commissioner’s, Nongstoin.
Gupta reminded the gathering about the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to get a smooth, fair and peaceful Legislative Assembly Election.
He said that use of vehicles for campaigning, use of money, flow of liquor and no one is allowed to violate the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), he also added that no EPIC Card should be left undistributed. He called upon Government functionaries to be sincere and perform their duties satisfactory.
While the police observer, SR Mishra said flying Squad should be flying like butterflies.
He urged upon the District Administration in-charge of Election to provide standardise basic facilities to police personnel deployed for election duty. He cautions the sector officers to visit their polling station, be more familiar and confident while carrying out their duties for a successful and peaceful Election.
District Election Officer Arun Kumar Kembhavi said that the DC office is prepared to conduct free, fair and peaceful elections.
