SHILLONG: The plan to upgrade the state highway from Nongstoin to Wahkaji to a two-lane road is seeing its fair share of controversy.
The status report of the NHIDCL says the bid for civil work has been annulled as per the recommendations of HPC due to the non-issuance of an NOC from the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council.
The 43.06 km road is to be taken up at a total estimated cost of Rs 365.66 crore, including land acquisition.
