NONGSTOIN: In a blow to HSPDP in the run upto the polls, three supporters of HSPDP quit the party and joined NPP on Saturday.
Dhi Kharsyntiew, Spindonal Nonglang and Kerosi Dkhar from Mawthungkper, who served the party since 1968 felt that HSPDP lacks leaders like late Hopingstone Lyngdoh. According to them, NPP is an emerging party with a strong foundation which can fulfill the vision and dreams of Lyngdoh.
They also blamed the sitting legislator Diosstarness Jydiang for their exit from the party.
‘The pride of Diosstarness Jydiang made us quit the party. He not only humiliated himself but also the party by breaking the election guidelines’, Nonglang said.
Dkhar added that Jyndiang is not fit to be a leader and carry on the promise of late Hopingstone Lyngdoh.
“The motive of selecting Jyndiang as a candidate in the by election was to complete the term left by Hoping because he was the care taker of Hoping until his death but to elect Jyndiang as MLA in the 2018 election will be wrong,” Dkhar said.
He further added that in the past two years, the people have suffered immensely as roads were also left unrepaired.
NPP in Nongstoin is getting stronger day by day because the people are starting to realize the hardships and struggles they had faced in the past few years regarding mining of rocks, stones, sand, coal and also the recent issues relating to ban on issuing of certificates by headmen of villages and some other issues, Dkhar said.
