SHILLONG: Independent candidate from Nongkrem, Lambor Malngiang on Monday released his manifesto for the upcoming Assembly polls.
The 16-point manifesto speaks about self-employment of women besides the importance of agriculture sector in the constituency where the huge chunk of population are farmers.
The manifesto also speaks about the need of setting up a college in the constituency besides strengthening of the local clubs and organizations. It underlined the need to have better internal roads in the area.
Speaking to media persons while releasing his manifesto, he said that the trend had changed in the state and people now vote for individuals and not the party even as he added that he did not consider his opponents strong or weak but he considered himself as a strong candidate.
We contest elections to win and not to lose,” he said while lamenting that water crisis is a major issue in the constituency though water sources are available
He also said that he would try to get projects of rain water harvesting from the Ministry of Water Resources if he wins while stressing on the need to have mining policy in the state.
Earlier, he marched to DC office along with his 3000-4000 supporters where he was allotted his election symbol
