Kerala Cong leaders campaign in Nongkrem

SHILLONG: The former chief minister of Kerala, Oommen Chandy and former Minister KC Joseph have campaigned for the party candidate John Kharshiing in Nongkrem on Tuesday.
AICC leaders, Netta D’Souza and Tom Wadakkan were also present.
Chandy said that Indian National Congress stood for respect for all cultures and it has always been the Congress which understood the sentiments of the people of the Northeast.
He said the Gandhi family represented by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi always had special ties with the Northeast and considered the people as part of the family.
The leaders called on the people of Nongkrem to vote for Congress candidate for peace, stability and all round development.
Chandy said the BJP was only interested in furthering the interest of the big business houses and had not supported the poor and the needy.
