JOWAI: A house at Lapangap village under Nartiang constituency in West Jaintia Hills was allegedly set on fire by Congress at around 8:30pm on Tuesday.
Owner of the house Melinda Dkhar, a close supporter of NPP candidate Sniawbhalang Dhar, alleged that Congress supporters had torched her house while she and her family was attending election campaigns at Saitsama and Mukoilum villages.
“My house has been gutted but no one has been injured in the incident”, Dkhar said.
She urged the election officers on duty to inspect the gutted house and also requested the district police to arrest all those involved in the act.
