| SHILLONG: Abdus Saffur Mondal, the elder brother of Congress candidate from Phulbari, A T Mondal clarified that the alleged death threat to NPP was totally false and fabricated was an attempt to malign his image in public.
It was alleged that Abdus Saffur Mondal along with Congress workers attacked the NPP office on February 4, 2018 during “Duwa Mehfil”. In a statement issued here, Abdus Saffur Mondal said that the allegation was level to malign him and the Congress workers of Phulbari Constituency. “I hereby wanted to clarify that on that very night, I was in a place about 1 km away from the place of incident in Charbatapara in the resident of one Danesh Ali Sarkar from where the police force rescued me after the incident occurred,” he said. He clarified that an FIR was lodged with the police, against the perpetrators of crime on that night, where Abdus Saffur Mondal alleged that a Congress worker, Ashraful Hoque was assaulted and stabbed by the NPP goons, while he was returning home.
