Accident
On February 12 around 9.10pm, one truck (AS-01BC-8594) driven by Rimiyo Ryngkhlem (20 yrs) dashed against another truck (ML-04A-7212) parked at a ‘No Entry’ line near 4th Mile in West Jaintia Hills. Rimiyo Ryngkhlem sustained injuries and was taken to Civil Hospital in Ialong.
On February 12 around 6.40pm, one Hyundai i-10 car (ML-04C-0330) driven by Wandy V Laloo knocked down one pedestrian Plim Hujon at Mawtnum in Ri Bhoi. The victim sustained injuries and was taken to Civil Hospital in Shillong.
Arson
On February 12 around 6pm, one dumper truck (ML-10A-7506) caught fire at 18th Mile in Byrnihat. It is suspected that unknown miscreant(s) were responsible for the fire.
Assault
On February 13 around 9.35pm, a group of unidentified miscreants assaulted and injured Sidhart Pradhan (29 yrs) in Nongmensong.
Kones War of Kyndong Tuber in West Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that on February 11 around 9.30pm, one Shan Pakma assaulted, injured and attempted to murder his daughter Robi Phawa.
Drowned
On February 13, Vijay Kumar (45 yrs) of Muzafarpur, Bihar drowned while he was washing clothes at a fishpond at Pamdakhar Ladmukhla in West Jaintia Hills.
Fire
On February 13 around 10pm, a fire broke out in the thatched house of Til Situng at Lapangap village in West Jaintia Hills. The house owner alleged that one Elias Lyngdoh set her house on fire.
One arrested
On February 12, Nangalbibra Police conducted search operations at Doka, Chibrasni areas and arrested one suspected gang member – Dikkim A Sangma of Rongsa Awe Nengkulgittim village in connection with the abduction (Feb. 2) of Posonta Tapader of Sapatgram, Dhubri, Assam from Rongsa Awe in South Garo Hills.
Theft
On February 10, unknown miscreant(s) broke into the house of Vinay Kumar at Pynthorbah, Block-I and stole two cell-phones.
Trucks seized
On Wednesday around 2.07am, three coal laden trucks (NL-01G-5115, ML-10B-5723 and NL-08D-0729) were apprehended for travelling on the road via Umden to Ronghona Byrnihat.
