Nine people were injured in an accident that happened on Thursday morning at around 10.30 am at 12th Mile, Mylliem. An Indica tourist car (ML04 B 5037), collided head on with a Mahindra Bolero (ML05 Q 7448) that was coming from the opposite direction. It was reported that the tourist vehicle was on its way to Pynursla from Shillong while the Bolero was on its way to Shillong when the accident happened. While the Indica was severely damaged, the bolero fell into a 20-feet deep gorge after the collision. Nine occupants from both the vehicles sustained injuries. The 108 emergency service were immediately alerted and the police was also informed. All the injured victims were shifted to the hospital by a 108 ambulance, private ambulance and a police vehicle. The 108 ambulance shifted three victims to Shillong Civil Hospital and they are identified as Konestar Marbaniang (28-years, male) from Mawkynrot, Danliroy Lyngkhoi (32-years, male) from Lapalang Shilong and Dashisha Rani (30 years, female) from Laitmawsiang.
On Thursday, one truck driver, Chotu Seteki (22-years, male) sustained injuries after the truck that he was driving collided with another 14-wheel-truck that was coming from the opposite direction. This accident happened on Thursday morning at around 2.30 AM in 8th Mile in West Jaintia Hills District. The Jowai based 108 ambulance helped in shifting the driver to Civil Hospital, Ialong.
On February 14 around 2.40 pm, an accident took place between one motorcycle ridden by Trakson Syiem (25 years) and one truck (PB-10CQ-3145) at Umeit Shillong Bypass Road (RB). As a result, the motorcycle rider and one pillion rider sustained injuries and were shifted to CHC Bhoirymbong.
