Directive to non-voters to leave constituencies

TURA: In pursuance of the Election Commission’s instructions, the District Election Officer of West Garo Hills, through an official release has issued directives to all political functionaries/party workers/procession functionaries/campaign functionaries who were brought in from outside the constituency and are not the voters of the constituency, not to remain present in the constituency beyond the period of 48 hours before the conclusion of the poll, stating that their continued presence after the campaigning period ends, may undermine the atmosphere for free and fair poll.

 

Requesting all concerned to comply, a strict warning was also issued to all hotels and guest house operators to comply with the directives.
