GNLA-ULFA (I) still active without Sohan

SHILLONG: GNLA chief Sohan D Shira is killed but the outfit’s senior cadres can create havoc in the region with the assistance of ULFA’s self-styled deputy commander-in-chief of Drishti Rajkhowa can create havoc in the region, according to police.
Meghalaya DGP S B Singh said on Saturday that regrouping of GNLA cannot be ruled out since ULFA leader Rajkhowa is assisting them.
“However, we are alert and force deployment has been intensified,” he said.
According to the DGP, senior cadres like Wallam, Nevak and Rahul can resurrect GNLA but the police are determined to check their activities.
ULFA-I and GNLA have coordination in carrying out violent activities in Garo Hills and the former has been assisting the GNLA to plant IEDs aimed at security forces.
