SHILLONG: Independent candidate from Nongkrem Lambor Malngiang said on Saturday the reign of HSPDP is over and the constituency needs a representative who will address the problems of the poor.
Addressing a large gathering at a meeting in Smit, Malngiang said Nongkrem needs development in all sectors.
Water scarcity is the most common agenda of all the candidates in the constituency and they are trying to woo voters with a promise of solving it.
The independent candidate lambasted HSPDP Legislator Ardent Basaiawmoit for under-development and accused him of attempting to buy his supporters.
Nongkrem constituency is heading for a multi-cornered contest with as many as seven candidates but the main fight is likely to be between Basaiawmoit, NPP’s HS Shylla and Malngiang.
