FIR filed over bridge collapse at A’konggre

TURA: Independent candidate from South Tura, Anamika J G Momin, has filed an FIR over the incident of bridge collapse at A’konggre locality in Tura in which several persons travelling in a Scorpio vehicle belonging to Momin, along with its driver were severely injured.

The incident had taken place on February 26 while the vehicle along with the occupants was crossing the bridge located on the Tura Market-A’konggre-Dobasipara Road, when the weak bridge collapse plunging the vehicle into a ditch below.

“It is to be noted that the accident is due to the careless attitude of the concerned department, which did not even put up a sign indicating the weak bridge for commuters. The status of the subway bridge can be ascertained even by a layman, that it was not suitable for thoroughfare. But neither the concerned department nor the authorities acted on the matter,” the FIR filed with the Officer in-charge of Tura Police Station stated.
