Faculty development initiative kick starts at NEHU Tura campus

TURA: A two week ‘Faculty Development Programme’ (FDP) held its inaugural session at the NEHU, Tura campus on Thursday.
The program is being organised by the Entrepreneurship Cell in collaboration with the Placement and Counselling Cell and the Department of Management of the University.
In a release issued to the media on Thursday, Abhigyan Bhattacharjee, Associate Professor, Department of Management and coordinator of the programme said that participants of the FDP are faculty from various institutions in and around West Garo Hills district.
The participants are the faculty members from NEHU, Tura campus, Don Bosco College, ICFAI University, Tura, KVK, and others.
The inaugural function of the programme was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills District, Ram Singh who also was the Chief Guest.
Sudhi Ranjan Mohanty, Assistant General Manager, SBI Regional Office, Chandmari, Tura was also present as a special invitee.
C.P. Suresh, Professor, Department of Horticulture and acting Pro Vice Chancellor, NEHU, Tura Campus and Abhigyan Bhattacharjee, Head incharge, Department of Management, NEHU, Tura Campus highlighted the significance of the programme in their inaugural speech.
The program has been sponsored by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, New Delhi and conducted by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) North Eastern Regional Office, Guwahati.
The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) aims at equipping teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge that are essential for inculcating entrepreneurial values in students which helps in guiding and monitoring their progress towards entrepreneurial careers.
