SHILLONG: The physical construction work of the much delayed Umsning Bye-pass will be completed at the end of March.
An official from the NHAI said that the slab casting and flooring work of the bridge is going and the process will take 28 days.
Even though the construction will be completed at the end of March, the road is likely to be open for traffic only in April after the necessary safety audit to be conducted by a third party.
Officials said that the work was delayed due to change of scope under which a bridge and vehicular under pass were added as the component of the project. Once the Umsning bye-pass is completed, the time taken for traveling between Guwahati and Shillong will further reduce.
