SHILLONG: The outgoing chief minister said the killing of GNLA leader Sohan Shira was used by opponents to gain votes.
“We lost in Rongjeng as the opponents targeted the government for killing Sohan and misled voters,” Mukul Sangma told reporters at his official residence on Sunday night.
He also said a similar campaign was launched by the opponents in Chokpot and other areas.
Sangma said his margin in Songsak was reduced due to the same reason.
