NONGPOH/Nongstoin: The Synjuk ki Khraw Pyrkhat Ri Bhoi District on Thursday raised concern over the non-induction of any MLA from Ri Bhoi under the MDA government.
While extending its support to the MDA government led by Conrad Sangma, Chairman GS Shadap said he was hopeful that the government under the dynamic leadership of Conrad would fulfil the aspirations of people. The Synjuk urged the chief minister to also focus on the district, “which is still in need of development”. The Synjuk extended their wishes to all the five MLAs from the district and urged them, especially those from the ruling government, Sosthenes Sohtun of Jirang, Jason S. Mawlong of Umsning and Dasakhiatshisha Lamare of Mawhati, to work hard.
In Nongstoin, the West Khasi Students Union central body has urged the new government to follow up all pending issues and development projects implemented by the last government in West Khasi Hills district. General Secretary D Sun said so far Nongstoin was neglected but hoped for a change this time.
