CM ‘techs’ it easy with iPad in House

SHILLONG: Conrad Sangma, unlike his predecessor, takes down notes in his iPad instead of using pen and paper during the Budget session.
During the discussion on the governor’s address on Monday, Sangma used iPad to note down the points raised by the legislators.
When asked by reporters, he said he was comfortable with iPad as the records would stay for long. “It is a good practice and we are looking at more digiti-sation,” he added.
He is not in favour of blanket e-governance in the state. “I am not saying that there should be e-governance everywhere. But what is important is handholding the citizens so that they can be part of the governance,” Sangma said.
The CM also held a meeting with officials of Information Technology to discuss matters related to e-governance. On digital budget, Sangma remained non-committal.
