NONGPOH: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) North Khasi Hills District Unit on Tuesday met Ri Bhoi deputy commissioner C.P Gotmare and submitted a memorandum questioning the delay behind establishment of entry and exit points in the state.
The KSU delegation, led by its NKHD president Ferdynald Kharkamni, sought to know whether district- level team have been constituted according to the notification of the political department issued on October 2012. The KSU also expressed concern on the presence of a large number of non locals in the state and district in general.
Speaking to newsmen soon after the meeting, Kharkamni informed that they met the DC to discuss pending issues including the government’s failure to set up a felicitation centre.
Kharkamni also said that members of the Union were surprised to learn that the DC was not aware of the district level team which must be set-up in the district as per the notification of the Political department.
