Full form of CAMPA?
PWD Minister Prestone Tynsong faced an embarrassing moment when Congress Charles Pyngrope asked him the full form of CAMPA.
The Compensatory Afforestation Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) scheme is for the improvement of mining areas as per the Supreme Court order.
It was a reference Tynsong made during the question hour when Congress MLA HM Shangpliang asked him about road projects approved by the governing body of the SPV.

In a situation that revived old memories, the Assembly witnessed an episode that took some of the members back to 2008. Donkupar Roy was the Chief Minister when Meghalaya Progressive Alliance (MPA) was in power in 2008 and Timothy Shira was then the Deputy CM.
After 10 years, Roy has been given the position of Speaker while Shira was elected as the Deputy Speaker. Some members who felicitated Shira in the Assembly also referred to this co-incidence.
