Awareness on inclusive society held in city

SHILLONG: A one-day workshop on inclusive society was held for parents, NGOs, teachers, government officials and other professionals at Bethany Society on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Cara Kharkongor said the workshop would sensitise people and make them aware about the National Trust Act.
Bethany Society is the State Nodal Agency under National Trust (Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment).
Carmo Noronha, executive director at Bethany Society, emphasised creation of equal opportunities, no discrimination, gender equality, cross disability and access and full participation of Persons with Disabilities. The National Trust is a statutory body of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
