4 killed in Turkey university shooting

Istanbul, April 5 (IANS) A researcher shot and killed four colleagues at the Eskisehir Osmangazi University in northwestern Turkey on Thursday.

The four victims included a deputy dean, the faculty secretary, an instructor and a faculty member, CNNTurk reported.

At least three others were injured in the attack by the shooter, a research associate with the university, it added.

He was detained by security forces but the cause of the shooting was not clear.

Police officers and ambulances were dispatched to the scene while students and the staff of the university were immediately evacuated, Hurriyet Daily News reported.
