PHE employees rape two minors in GH, one held

TURA: An employee of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) has been arrested for allegedly raping two minor girls. Another accused is on the run.
The duo, Nokosh Ch Marak (45) and Konesh Hajong (21), had been sexually assaulting the girls, aged seven and eight, for quite some time. They would lure the children with sweets and other items, Tura police said.
Both men worked at the Dakopgre office of the PHE. Nokosh worked as a regular employee and Hajong was a muster roll worker.
They allegedly lured the girls into the office after other employees had left work.
The family came to know about the crime against their daughters on Tuesday night and alerted the police.
Police raided the houses of both the accused men and managed to arrest Konesh Hajong. However, Nokosh managed to give police a slip and is now on the run.
Hajong was brought before a judge in the Tura court and remanded in custody.
