Phulbari MLA’s brother thrashes man

SHILLONG: The political rivalry in Phulbari region remains volatile as another assault case had been reported in the area.
A Congress worker was allegedly beaten up by the brother of current NPP MLA from Phulbari SG Esmatur Mominin on Tuesday.
The victim, Shah Alam, who hails from Chibinang lodged an FIR against the MLA’s brother Jelemur Islam Sarkar.
He said that Sarkar along with a group of NPP supporters assaulted and also threatened him.
The complainant was shopping in the village when he was stopped and attacked by the goons.
When contacted, West Garo Hills SP Raghvendra Kumar said that an FIR and counter FIR had been filed from both sides and the matter is under investigation.
