Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia to kin of lightning victim

GUWAHATI: The Hailakandi district administration in Assam paid an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the next of kin of Minajuddin Borbhuiya who died after lightning struck him on March 16.

Circle Officer, Lala, Madhumita Nath handed over the cheque on behalf of the district administration to the victim’s widow Humera Begum Borbhuiya at her residence on Wednesday.

The people of Rajeshwar Revenue Circle of Lala thanked the district administration for acting swiftly in releasing compensation to the next of kin of the deceased.
