Accident
On April 3rd around 8.55 pm, one LPG tanker (AS-01GC-8225) driven by Md. Ahaduddin Borbhuiya collided with one scooty (AS-01DX-0104) at Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi. The rider of the scooty sustained injuries and was admitted at a hospital in Guwahati.
On April 3rd around 11.05pm, one Maruti Alto K-10 (ML-05H-4984) driven by Aibor Kharbhih (67 yrs) crashed into a truck (number not known) at 7th Mile in Upper Shillong. The driver of the Alto sustained injuries and was admitted at Civil Hospital in Shillong.
On April 2nd, police from Rongjeng PS found three injured persons – Atiar Sangma (32), Sengban D. Shira (38) and Salkand Marak (18) while patrolling the Darugre, Nongchra and Nangberam areas in East Garo Hills. The three injured persons were taken to CHC at Rongjeng where the MO on duty declared Salkand Marak as ‘brought dead’. It was later revealed during an enquiry that Sengban D Shira and Atiar Sangma were travelling together on a motorcycle (ML-07B-3525) ridden by Sengban D Shira and had knocked down Salkand Marak, while he was walking on the road.

Assault
Taralin Iangngap lodged a complaint stating that on April 3, her son Rodyshine Iangngap (in inebriated condition) indecently abused, assaulted and threatened his sister with dire consequences at Mawlai Nongkwar, Block-IV. Police have arrested the accused.
On April 1, around 11.30pm, unknown miscreants assaulted Sanjay Swer at Lad Shyiap in Golf Link. The victim was admitted at Nazareth Hospital for treatment.

Coal trucks seized
On April 5 around 9.45am, police intercepted and seized four coal laden trucks NL-01AA-9912, ML-04C-3316, ML-06-8179 and AS-01FC-1871 for evading the weighbridge at Shangbangla in Ri Bhoi. The matter is now under investigation.
Elephant attack
On the morning of March 29, a wild elephant attacked Tengman D. Shira (28) at Damringdap in North Garo Hills which resulted the victim’s death.

Fraud
Atul Kumar lodged a complaint that on March 7 around 3.15pm, he received a text message which stated that a certain amount of money was transacted through his City Bank credit card. However, the complainant stated that it was done without his knowledge.
Person found dead
On April 3rd, one Hari Chettri boarded an oil tanker (ML-10B-3677) driven by Md. Mazibur Ahmed from a petrol pump at Shillong Bypass. The trucker, who was well known to Hari Chettri asked him to sleep in the cabin of the truck. However, on reaching Shangbangla in Ri Bhoi, Hari Chettri was found dead inside the truck. The cadaver was sent to Civil Hospital in Nongpoh for post mortem.
On April 3rd around 7.30 am, Nayipal (50) was found lying dead on the Montfort Secondary School campus in North Garo Hills. Nayipal worked as a driver for school.

Theft
Muntha Puia Darlong lodged a complaint stating that on April 3 around 7.30 pm, unknown miscreant(s) stole his laptop computer from Dr. A.S Kynjing building at Demthring.
Elbina Kharbani lodged a complaint that on April 2nd around 8.30pm, unknown miscreants broke into her rented house at Ladweitang village in West Khasi Hills and stole Rs. 2 lakh cash and gold ornaments.
On the night of April 2nd & 3rd, unknown miscreant(s) broke into M/s MK Tech belonging to Abhishek Jasrasaria at Bawri Mansion in Dhankheti and stole cell phones, cash and other items worth Rs. 22 lakh.
