DTO arrested in APSC job scam case

GUWAHATI: Another government official in Assam has been arrested on Monday by police in connection with the on-going investigation into the ‘jobs-for-cash’ scam that rocked Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) during the year 2015 and 2016.

Dibrugarh Police which is investigating into the scam, arrested District Transport Officer (DTO) of  Sonitpur district, Prasenjit Ghosh from Tezpur in connection with the APSC job scam.

The DTO was recently transferred from Kamrup Metropolitan district where he faced CID investigation because of his alleged involvement in a coal syndicate. He was interrogated by the CID on a few occasions in this case.
