Roll call takes away class time
Discussing about congestion in colleges in the Assembly on Thursday, UDP MLA Nujorki Sungoh from Mookaiaw pointed out that one whole period is taken away on roll call of over 700 students in class XI in Kiang Nangbah College, Jowai.
The MLA apprised the government of the difficulty faced by the students while inquiring if there is any plan to setup a separate campus or infrastructure for 10+2.
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said, “The government is looking for land and will shift to the new campus as soon as the government gets the land and funds are sanctioned”.

The House burst into laughter when Deputy Speaker Timothy Shira who was seated near the Opposition Leader Mukul Sangma followed the opposition Congress members walking out of the Assembly on Thursday.
The Congress members walked out for a few seconds in protest against the proposed move of the chief minister to issue work permit to Bangladeshi nationals.
When the opposition members got up, Shira was also seen getting up and walking together with the Congress members which led to laughter .
