SHILLONG: The constable form 1st MLP battalion, Probat Marak who had sustained injuries after being hit by the Mercedes of the Health Minister A L Hek’s son, Aibansharai Nongsiej died here at NEIGRIHMS on Saturday evening.
It may be mentioned that another constable from Jail police, P D Sangma was killed and Probat Marak was seriously injured when the Meghalaya Health Minister A L Hek’s son, Aibansharai Nongsiej rammed his Mercedes into their motorcycle at Fourthfurlong area in the town last week.
Police said that the postmortem of the deceased would be conducted on Sunday after which the body would be handed over to the relatives.
According to police, the son of the Minister has been charged with Section 304 IPC
Police earlier filed an FIR and registered a suo moto case after the relatives of the victims did not lodge any complaints
Aibansharai Nongsiej was arrested earlier but was released because it is a bailable offence.
