Man held for rape

NONGSTOIN: A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Langpih for the abduction and rape of a 21-year-old woman.
Espendar Shangdiar, who is from Khyllemsangrin in the border area, abducted the woman from Mawjari village near Langpih where she was raped and kept captive in a forest since April 11 evening, sources said. She was released the next evening.
The accused was arrested on Saturday by Nongstoin women police after the victim filed an FIR. He was brought to Nongstoin PS where he will be produced in the court. A case was registered and interrogation is on.
