SHILLONG: A member of the BJP in Meghalaya has quit only to join the one-year-old regional party, People’s Democratic Front (PDF).

It was on April 6 that Shembhalang L Chyne, member of BJP Shella mondal officially resigned from the BJP.

He is vying for the PDF ticket from Shella Constituency for the 2019 Council elections although he maintains it is up to the party higher ups to allot the ticket.

Terming the PDF as “very clean party,” Chyne told reporters, “People accept the ideology of PDF as it was able to win four seats despite being a new party.”

Arguing that the BJP has not made any palpable influence in the state, he said the people of the state had not accepted the ideology of the BJP.

Speaking about his constituency, he said the road condition was pathetic, improper health facility, lagging behind in education etc.
