Four tribal militants held with arms in Karbi Anglong in Assam

GUWAHATI: Based on specific intelligence, the Army engaged in counter-insurgency operation launched two separate operations along with Assam Police at multiple locations in East and West Karbi Anglong Districts of Assam from 28 – 29 April 2018, a Defence source informed.

 

In the ensuing operations, three Karbi Liberation Front (KLF) cadres were apprehended from East Karbi Anglong on April 29 along with two factory-made .22 mm pistols, one Taiwan-made 12 bore pump action gun, twenty live rounds of .22 mm ammunition and twenty-five blank extortion letters.

 

In the second Operation, one Karbi People’s Liberation Tiger (KPLT) cadre was apprehended from Donkamokam, West Karbi Anglong on April 29, who is reportedly involved in extortion, recruitment and drug trafficking in West Karbi Anglong District.
