SHILLONG: The ruling National People’s Party is taking a lead in Meghalaya’s Williamnagar Assembly Constituency, where  election was held on April 27 last. After fourth round of counting of votes till now the NPP candidate is leading over his rivals.

The election to Williamnagar constituency in the hill state had to be deferred because of killing of the NCP candidate in the run up to the polls earlier scheduled on February 27 along with the rest of the constituencies in the state.

Williamnagar LAC was represented by Congress’ Deborah C Marak in the previous Assembly.
