Weather warning
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning whereby thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and heavy rain is very likely to occur on Saturday, and heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
IMFL seized
The DC (Excise), West Garo Hills Tura has informed that the department conducted raids in the entire district and arrested 41 persons under the Excise Act during March and April. A total of 41 cases were detected including 4 unclaimed cases with seizure amounting to approximately 23.445 litres of IMFL, 23.4 litres of Beer and 19 litres of ID liquor. Altogether, 53 cases were disposed off and a fine amounting to Rs 38,850 was realised.
