TURA: The FKJGP and FAF in Bajengdoba has expressed disappointment over the discontinuation of work on the road from NH-51 to Raja Apal village, the construction of which began before the assembly elections this year.

“It is learnt that the abrupt cease of work is politically motivated due to change of guard in the Constituency. Our organizations have vowed not to remain mute spectator against this injustice. This road has been left unattended for years and the poor villagers are left to suffer,” the organizations said.

The organizations said that hundreds of people from 63 odd villages would be affected if the road construction was abandoned. According to them, the matter was also taken up with the PWD (Roads) Department but nothing has been done to restart construction.

“If the stoppage of work is due to political reasons, we will pursue the matter with the government,” they said.
