Deborah plaint referred to disciplinary committee

SHILLONG: The complaint on anti-party activities in Williamnagar that affected the prospect of Congress candidate Deborah Marak has been referred to the disciplinary action committee.
MPCC president Celestine Lyngdoh said on Friday that the committee will decide on the complaint within seven days.
“We referred the complaint to the chairman of the disciplinary action committee, WHD Syngkon, two days ago,” Lyngdoh said.
Earlier, the Block Congress Committee (BCC) of Williamnagar had petitioned the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on several Congress leaders campaigning against the official candidate of the party.
The complaint was mainly against the president of East Garo Hills district Congress Committee Linderson A Sangma, former MDC Lahitson M Sangma and the newly elected Congress MLA from Tikrikilla constituency, Jimmy D Sangma, for campaigning for Independent candidate Sengbath Marak instead of Deborah.
