Bomb hoax

SHILLONG:  Shillong City was caught in the wrap of hoax bomb call when an unclaimed bag was found near Jylli shop in Nongthymmai.

Immediately after being informed about the bag, bomb squad was dispatched to the area.

East Khasi Hills district SP, D Marak said that the bag had been found to belong a student of St Edmunds College and police found the identity card and some other belongings from the bag.

Meanwhile, traffic was also affected in the area for some time.

This is not the first time when city was caught under the wrap of bomb scare as in the past too, many unclaimed bags were found from different parts of the city and police accordingly took measures by cordoning off the area
