SHILLONG: Former chairman of the ANVC-B Bernard N Marak has refuted the claims of pressure group AYWO saying they are “baseless” and have “political backing”.
In a statement released on Monday, Marak said “the self-styled NGO” is a headless organisation as its president has joined a political party.
He also denounced AYWO and other pressure groups for denying their involvement in the “daylight robbery” of GLR Pharmaceuticals, which he owns.
GSU and other groups had said Marak was running the business illegally. “GHADC should investigate if the claims of these self-styled NGOs are true or mere allegations,” he said.
“I am not going to stoop down to their dadagiri. There seems to be a political backing against their unlawful activities,” he added.
