Bilbao (Spain): Espanyol rode on a lone goal from David Lopez to beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0 in their final La Liga game of the football season.
Lopez scored the goal nine minutes into the first half on a close-range header on Sunday, reports Efe.
This was Espanyol’s 12th win of the season, during which they lost 13 games and played to a draw 13 times.
Bilbao, meanwhile, conceded their 15th defeat this season, during which they managed to notch up 10 wins.
Espanyol wrapped up the season in 13th place in the La Liga table with 49 points, while Bilbao sat in the 16th spot with 43 points.(IANS)
