Health camps organised across State

SHILLONG: A free eye and health check-up camp was organised by FICCI FLO North-East at Ranibari in Ri Bhoi on May 19 where doctors from Sri Sankar Nethralaya screened the villagers. A total of 195 consultations were made at the camp.
‘The women of the village mainly make a living by weaving, however, due to poor eyesight, they were not able to weave,’ said Anannya Sharma, the project coordinator from FICCI FLO.
Few were also identified for eye operation which Sri Sankar Nethralaya will conduct for free. Dr Sweta Bhansali Jain, gynaecologist, Dr Yasshaa Agarwal, dentist, Dr Reema Das, skin specialist and Dr Pooja Jaiswal, general physician also checked the patients.
Juice bottles, biscuits, toothpaste, toothbrushes and sanitary napkins were also distributed.
Another free medical camp was also organised by Marwari Sammelan Shillong Shakha at Rajasthan Vishram Bhawan, Luckier Road on Sunday.
Around 110 people attended the camp where doctors from Narayana Super Speciality Hospital conducted medical check-up the patients.
