One killed
On May 24 at 2.30 pm, a motorcycle (ML-130852) ridden by Balik B Marak (40) fatally knocked down Motre N. Marak (48) at Dilma village in North Garo Hills. Necessary formalities were observed and police arrested the rider. The matter is under investigation.
Motorcycle rider killed
On May 20 around 10.30 am, a motorcycle (A/F) ridden by Md. Hanan Ali Laskar skidded off the road on NH-44 at Kuliang, East Jaintia Hills. As a result, the rider died on the spot.
Kidnap
On May 24 around 12.30 am, Palgun Arengh (44) was abducted by miscreants from his residence at Hatimara, Purakhasia in West Garo Hills.
Theft
On May 24 around 6 pm, miscreants broke into the house of Rahul Majumdar at Nongrimmaw, Shillong and stole one LPG cylinder and a laptop computer.
Truck overturns
On May 24 at 3 am, a truck (AS-01-DD-4391) loaded with potatoes turned over on the road at Jyntru (Ri Bhoi). As a result, the handyman of the truck sustained injuries. The matter is being inquired.
Threat
Michael Sohklet lodged a complaint that on May 19 around 11 pm, Hasman Sohklet created trouble in the village and threatened his family members with dire consequences.
