Flag march held; city under night curfew cover

SHILLONG: The Army conducted flag march in the city on Friday night as the district administration declared curfew in the entire city from 10 pm to 5 am till further orders.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar said one round of flag march was conducted at night.
“The army is on standby and depending on the situation, further flag marches will be held,” Dkhar said.
When asked about the less number of police personnel, he said the present deployment would suffice to the needs and if there are requirements, more forces would be deployed.
He said curfew has been clamped in the entire city from 10 pm to 5 am to ensure that there is normalcy.
