SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Editors & Publishers Association (MEPA) has expressed anguish over the violent incidents which were occurring for the last three days in Shillong city and other affected areas.
It also informed that on Saturday, a group of people did not allow the circulation and distribution of The Shillong Times newspaper at Mairang and Nongstoin.
MEPA has appealed to NGOs, individuals and government machineries to allow the Fourth Estate to function freely without any interference from any quarter as external pressure will affect the freedom of the press.
