WKH administration reviews situation in wake of Shillong disturbances

NONGSTOIN: The district administration under the chairmanship of K L Nongbri, ADC  I/C Deputy commissioner, West Khasi Hills (WKH)  District, in the presence of Superintendent of Police, G.D.Kharwanlang convened an emergency meeting with the local leaders,  Sordars, Headmen  of various localities and NGOs of the district  on Monday to discuss the prevailing  law and order situation including the present  happenings in Shillong  city. The meeting was held at the conference Hall D C Office here.

The meeting appealed the local youths and residence of the district to refrain from indulging in any activity that may disturb the peace and harmony of the area.

The meeting also requested all the inhabitants and especially youth not to give ears to  rumours without proper verification of the facts which may leads to any disruptions of  law and order and peaceful environment of the district.

The  similar meetings were also held at Mawshynrut and Mairang civil sub-divisions on Monday.
