SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited Joint Action Committee (MJAC) will start their first phase of agitation by holding demonstration and black flag protest at all the district headquarters on June 11, 12 and 13 during office hours. The MJAC said the agitation is in protest against the non-responsive and lackadaisical attitude of the management in solving issues such as payment of arrear, electricity allowance, death-cum-retirement gratuity, medical advance, time bound financial benefit and re-deployment of retired employees.
The MJAC will seek an appointment with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and submit documents relating to corporatisation of the erstwhile Meghalaya State Electricity Board.
